Unfortunate Tha Khek

I had a plan for Tha Khek and that is to do the motorcycle loop into the country side starting and ending in Tha Khek. Travel information and rental services can be found there, specifically Tha Khek Travel Lodge.
Tha Khaek in sight!!
the bus stopped and some man just came and handed me some gum and asked for 5k -_-". I handed it back to him of course!
Tha Khek Travel Lodge - the one place with all the infor you need.
nice setting with campfire every night
One of the cleanest dorm I have ever stayed in.(25k kip=$5)

the loop as the people here calls it, a 3-5 days motorcycle ride into the countryside area the area. It is a dirty, dusty and the ride would be full of ups and downs, literally. There is a travel log book in Tha Khek Travel Lodge with many reviews and it is filled with so much excitement and positive experience with many ending with a "dont hesitate, just go for it". Then i had a problem, i did not want to do it alone for fear that if something happens, i would be in trouble alone. A check with the staff named Pane who told me that the morning there is a group of 5 who already went! Damn! So i decided to stay a day or 2 and hopefully someone who wants to do the loop comes by. In the mean time, i had alot of time on hand to while away. Many travel infor and experiences written by people who went for it
You can see Thailand from here and also the river that i have been with for the past few weeks
Street kids who were very very happy when they saw me cycling past
They kept wanting to take pictures!
Street kid who i stayed and played with for a while
Grilled frogs for you?

After 2 days of waiting!! none who wants to do the loop came. So i decided to leave the next day in a night bus. In the morning, i met Syd, an expat living in laos and he will be visiting one of the rapids around Tha Khek and he asked me and a couple of others at the travel lodge along. Why not? since i have the whole day and nothing to do.
Tranquil setting
quaint river
sleepy riverside
Shy village kids

shortly after, i boarded a night bus filled with flies towards Pakse!
