Update!! Update!!

Hello all!

Been a long time since i last update. Damm chinese government has built a great firewall of china and blocked many of the sights, youtube included, making access to my blog impossible. Finally with a little help from the net, i managed to access it.

Now that i found a way to access it, i will update as much as possible until i return home.

Return home?!?!

YES! finally i decided to return home(not by choice, school is starting). Everything is set, the date is fixed, the air ticket is bought. *Drum Roll

July 21st 2009! Arrive Singapore T1 20:50 Airasia Ak715 *remember come pick me up!

A little update, i am currently in china. Remember my last post about sneaking into somewhere illegally?

The place is TIBET!

Current rules for foreigners entering tibet

1. Tibet travel permit(additional alien travel permit if traveling outside Lhasa, provincial city of tibet)

2. Join a tour group with a detailed itineary

3. Accommpanied by a guide, car, driver at all times

A example trip to tibet for 8days would cost about S$2500 at its minimum, not including your food and personal expenses.

This is the chinese governments indirect way of restricting foreigners into tibet.

So would i take the bait and pay this huge chunk of money to the chinese government(we all know what they are famous for)?

OF COURSE NOT!!!

So how did i managed to sneak into tibet?
1. A fake student ID. China, the land of fakes, you can possibly find/make ANYTHING you could and couldnt think of. First thought was to make a fake china ID card. However student card brings me discount to many sights *winks winks that China ID card couldnt and can still be used to register in place of ID card eg. Registration for Potala palace, lodging. Cost of making it is 40RMB(S$9).

2. Pretend to be a chinese. With my asia look and basic language capability, i have no problem posing as a china national(no need the above restrictions). All i need is a story about where i come from in the event if the authorities ask.

3. Hang around other chinese travelers. With other china national, it would make me look less foreigner and able to hide in the crowd.

Right now i am still in tibet, no authorities having found out about me yet. Hopefully it will remain this way till i leave.

There you go, a little update for being MIA for so long. I will update as much as much as possible and continue the rest when i return home.

Tata!
